What did you pay ? Csection

I know each state/city is different also the type of insurance plays a huge part.
 I'm scheduled to have a Csection in March and I'm just wondering more less what to expect to pay. 
I live in California and have Blue Shield of California insurance. 
Please share what you paid out of pocket after your insurance covered their portion and also what State you live in. I just want to get an idea and also can you make payments?

Usually you can call your insurance and get an estimate. My insurance gave me the exact amount.

Our deductible is $2500. With our first that was met before months before delivery because I had a 4 day hospital stay at 29 weeks. So my high risk, complicated c-section with 7 day hospital stay didn’t cost us anything out of pocket but insurance was billed 100K. 
Our second was a less complicated c-section and only a 4 day stay (followed by 3 more days for baby, two of which were NICU). We again only had to pay the deductible of $2500 but I believe insurance was billed around $75K for that.

I just have to pay my deductible (3k). That was in 2020 (the total billed was 128k, so dumb).  In 2021, I also only had to pay my deductible, but my son was in the nicu, so he started his own deductible—obviously he met it in the nicu.  So we paid 6k in total for his birth. Silly guy🤪

My out of pocket was 6500 before the deductible but i think we still ended up paying an additional like 5k out of pocket. That was in 2019 in Maine

There’s a number on the back of your insurance card, call it and they can tell you exactly what you should expect to pay. We had blue cross blue shield when we lived in Ca and paid $2,000 for a regular birth, that was 7 years ago though and idk what the c section rates were.
