BFP after depo🤰🏽❤️

Yesterday was a day I never thought would happen for me! I got my positive test ❤️ Here’s my TTC journey after depo for those who are worried about it!

I was on birth control for about 10 years. I’d say 8 of those years I was on the depo shot. I had no idea there was a “recommended” amount of time to be on depo and was probably on it way too long (or so I thought). In June of 2021 I decided to take my last depo shot so i could begin to regulate my body & to start the journey to conceive in the next year or so. Because of being on BC, specifically depo, for SO long I thought it would take me awhile to get pregnant…

3 months later, Sept 2021, I was due for my shot and did not take it. I had a bleed almost immediately. However, I don’t think that was my actual period. I didn’t have another bleed for 4 months… I was tracking everything and even went to my gyno to see what she’d say about coming off depo and my period. She said it may take a couple months but that my body WOULD start a cycle again and I would ovulate eventually. She also mentioned that it’s rare, but women can ovulate without a period. So to keep tracking my ovulation with OPT to see.

January 2022 I got my period! It lasted 4 days. And at this point I was taking OPT and tracking my bbt. I never got a positive OPT (I was using cheapies from Amazon), but based on my CM and bbt I guesstimated when I ovulated. We baby danced 4 days prior…cutting it close.

I was not expecting to get pregnant this first month of having my cycle back. Only a small part of me thought maybe i could be, but It was such a SHOCK. And a BLESSING.

I know this story is so long, but I remember looking up TTC after depo success stories and could barely find 1…it was super upsetting. My journey and yours will NOT be the same, just like mine wasn’t the same as all the stories I read, but this is a positive outcome for those worried about getting their baby after depo❤️
