Azithromycin for double ear infection

I just took my LO to the CVS minute clinic because he hasn’t been eating and had a fever yesterday, white bumps on his tonsils, & pulling at ears. Turns out he has a double ear infection, the NP prescribed him Azithromycin, I don’t think he has ever been on that and was curious if any other toddlers here have used that. Normally he is on Amoxicillin (he has had ear infections in the past).
