Bv recurring

Alright ladies I need some advice. I get bv any time I have unprotected sex. (It seems like it's up in the air on how exactly it happens bust most doctors can agree it comes from semen altering the vaginal ph). My gyno has me on a long term treatment plan because I get it so often and I'm obviously using condoms now. But my question is eventually I'll want to have a child. Obviously one does not use condoms when trying to have a baby so the meeting of bodily fluids is going to happen. Which means I will get bv again. So for anyone that has had this issue did you just use condoms indefinitely until you were actively trying to have a child? Did it eventually just randomly stop? Or did you do something in addition to the antibiotics. Also yes I have heard about boric acid. After talking to my gyno he informed me it doesn't actually treat bv. It just treats the odor associated with bv.
