Am I wrong?
So today is Valentine’s Day and I’m a little frustrated with my boyfriend. We’ve been together for almost a year and this is our first Valentine’s Day. (I am 21, he is 23) I feel like he put no effort into today at all, I didn’t get any flowers or gifts and he is completely broke today, he has a job and makes good money but his birthday was the 11th so he blew his money that day partying, even after we spoke about him putting money to the side for our day today, he still didn’t do it after he promised he would. I happened to have a carrabbas gift card that I received on Christmas, that’s what he’s using to take me out for dinner tonight. So basically I have to use a giftcard someone else bought me for Christmas to pay for my own Valentine’s Day dinner. I’m not gonna lie I’m on edge and I have an attitude with him today and I haven’t told him why because I don’t want to seem entitled and I know it’ll spark up a fight and I don’t want to ruin our day, but am I wrong for being pissed?? I was so excited for our first Valentine’s Day and I’m very disappointed. Should I say something, and if I do, how should I word it so it doesn’t start an argument or make me seem ungrateful or entitled ?
Side note: it’s not about how much money he spends or gifts. Even a cute picnic in his backyard would satisfy me, like the point is put in effort and show that you care about me.
