Test?

Question

For those of you who had a chemical pregnancy.. did the doctor run any test to see if it could have been a hormone problem? Or just say probably chromosome abnormality? I guess what I’m asking is did your doctor run any test after your first chemical? I just had one and have an appointment to talk to OB Tuesday and wondering if I should ask for test or what

Chemicals are so common that most providers won’t do additional testing after “just” one. My OB didn’t… but I took it upon myself to schedule an appt. with an RE for peace of mind just because of a gut feeling. I ended up going through a whole slew of testing and had a couple more chemicals over the course of almost two years. My diagnosis was unexplained infertility and recurrent losses. We did a couple rounds of IUI and two rounds of IVF in that time. We were waiting on a FET when I found out I was pregnant naturally with a bean that actually stuck! My son is now 14 months old and I’m in the middle of a FET cycle now with my previously frozen embryos… since having my son, I’ve had two more chemicals. We still have no answers. But I’m glad I went with my gut and met with an RE well before the “recommendation”. If you *just* started TTC and have regular periods and no other indication something might be up, I probably wouldn’t worry about having any testing done. If it’s been several cycles and now you’ve had a chemical, then I might… especially depending upon your age. Good luck to you!

Chemicals are so common that unless your testing early most don’t even know they have had one. My OB wouldn’t run any tests until after I had two miscarriages (after 6 weeks gestation). Luckily I only had a chemical and a mmc before I conceived my girl.
