What’s the best way to present a surprise trip to Disney to the kids?

We have a 5, 3, and 2 yo and we’re going to Disney the week after Easter. I’m debating making it part of their Easter basket and giving them Mickey ears. The other part wants to surprise them the morning of. My kids are pretty laid back so really no prep is needed for change of routine. Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks!

I think the week before is a great time to tell them, especially for the 5 year old. My parents waited to tell us on the way to the airport once and my younger sisters (young elementary school at the time) were so surprised that they were upset about it. My parents were totally taken aback by their reaction though we laugh about it now. Your 2 and 3 year old probably don’t have a great sense of time so the timing won’t matter so much to them.

I think doing the Mickey ears in the Easter basket is a adorable idea. Don’t spring it on them day of. What I’ve learned about most children is that they do much better with things when you prepare them for it.

dont say anything at all. Tell then you're all going to the dentist or something really borning. then when you get there SURPRISE!!!!
