What would you do?

Hello!
It is only our first month ttc with baby #2, I am currently in the two week wait, really hoping to find out I’m pregnant this cycle though!
We are traveling to South Africa in late April to visit family who I haven’t seen in over 15 years! I am so so so hoping to be pregnant so that I am able to tell my family in person when we visit, as my 2 cousins who live over there are also pregnant so it would be even more special.
However if I was lucky enough to get pregnant the first try, I would only be around 8-9 weeks when we go. I don’t want to tell everyone too early and have the worst happen, but I also wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to tell them in person.
Would you tell people that early, or wait and tell them later over FaceTime?

I was in this exact predicament with this pregnancy, it was either I tell them while I was abroad or wait to tell them over facetime when it was "safe". I opted to tell them in person as I would have likely told them if I miscarried anyways. It really depends on what your preferences are

I lost a baby at 10 weeks last year and we hadn't told anyone we were expecting - personally for me I regretted not telling people earlier on because it became almost as if they didnt exist to those around us. Since having this baby we announced at 6 weeks and we were happy with that. Some people are alot more personal on their lives and would rather not talk about anything *IF* it happened, I guess it's down to you as a person. I don't have a ginormous family so were pretty close knit

It’s a very personal decision but now with my 2nd pregnancy I decided to tell close family right from the beginning. When I was pregnant with my 1st I had some mental health concerns and waited an agonizing 3 months to tell my closest family who I really needed for support. So this time I made the decision to tell them early- I’d much rather have their support in all circumstances.
