Tylenol ?

My 2 month old is getting his shots tomorrow, should we give him Tylenol before hand, I'm not sure how much to give him as well. First time mom so this is all new to me.

Your pediatrician will tell you how much or if it’s necessary. Mine don’t rally advise the tylenol as “it can decrease the efficacy of the vaccines (based on research).” My baby had his 2nd month shots, he was fine during the first few hours, then he started to be cranky and non-stop crying so I assumed he was in pain then gave him the baby Tylenol.

My first born did not have a fever with the first shots so I did not giver her anything. But she did run a fever for her second. It’s probably best to wait and see how your baby reacts.

Don’t give baby Tylenol preemptively. They may not even need anything. So far, my baby has handled her vaccines just fine without anything. Most babies do. Mine have typically cried for a few seconds after a shot, but I’ll nurse them or give a paci and they have forgotten all about it.
Also, do not give baby any medication without dosage directions from your pediatrician. Mine have my a chart years ago that lists age and weight, medication type and amount.

They will tell you at the appointment how much to give the baby. It's based off of weight. My baby is 11poubds 10oz when he got his 2 month shots I had to give him 1.25 ML of infant Tylenol.

No!! Don’t give anything unless they run a fever. It can take away from the affects of the shots.
