Sip and See OR Baby Shower

Hello! I am due with my second on May 3rd and am feeling like I am running out of time.

I wanted to do a small gathering with friends, since my husband and I don't have family near us. We are doing a zoom shower next week with our most immediate family who live on opposite coasts.

Should I do a baby shower on April 17th or is that cutting things too short? My husband will be out of town for two weeks and is coming back on the 12th.

I don't anticipate asking guests to bring gifts since I always feel awkward asking for gifts. We have most of what we need and keep things simple, but we are having a boy (our first was a girl).

Thanks in advance for your ideas! I feel like I'm way in my head.
