Hi everyone. I have a few questions hopefully some of you could answer for me. It may be somewhat a lot to read (sorry!)

I currently am on Nexplanon because I have PCOS . This is the 3rd type of birth co from I’ve tried

My doctor started me on Metformin because I have had my PCOS symptoms worsen a bit, but it is a repetitive pattern that when I take it I start my period. I’ve had my period for almost two months now. The only thing that stops it temporarily is pain killers.

My dr isn’t too sure why, so she asked an Ob/gyn colleague of hers, and the Ob/gyn states im right and that it is the metformin. She also stated she believes maybe i’m not receiving as many hormones from my Nexplanon.

Does this mean my Nexplanon isn’t protecting me as much as it is supposed to?

Another thing, she gave me birth control pills to take so i can stop my period. I wasn’t too upset about the bleeding but as it is Ramadan, i would rather not have my period during this month…

Do any of you have experience with Nexplanon combined with the pills? Is it bad? Recommendations?
