Does Schitt's Creek get better?

I finally started watching it and I'm 11 episodes in. I just don't get the hype. Does it get better later on or something?

Yes it does but it has a very different humor than your average show! I loved it from the beginning but i also find shows like the office and brooklyn 99 etc very funny

I watched every episode as it came out and plan to watch the whole thing again sometime soon. The humor maybe isn't for everyone, but I found it very entertaining and the character development was so good. Unlike shows like Friends, the characters actually go through a lot of growth and change. A few episodes in the last 2 seasons had be bawling my eyes out (not because the were sad, but because they really struck a chord and I was happy for the characters). If you haven't minded the show so far, I would recommend continuing.

I loved it from the beginning and have rewatched it several times.  I know many people who felt meh about it after a few episodes then tried again and really enjoyed it.  
The characters are supposed to be self absorbed, unaware, and over the top but they develop as the series goes on.  
I don't like Chris Elliott at all no matter what he's in but I tolerated him in this.  He has said in past interviews he knows people don't Lome him and his style of comedy and his point is to make people uncomfortable.

I mean the characters develop amd and change some like any show but the humor stays the same. I loved it but I like that kind of comedy. I know a lot of people say things like they are too over the too, or Moira is too much/annoying, or they are so materialistic but that is kinda the point. I guess it just depends on what you don't like about it. Not like the episodes are long so watch a few more and see if you like it but I personally liked it from the start.
