Cryptocurrency: where do you stand?

Question

I just want to know where people from this platform stand with it. Given the uncertainty of fiat currency, I wonder if people are becoming more open to it. 
Let me know where you stand in the comments. 
I put this in controversy corner because it seemed to best fit given that it’s a very divided subject where some people have full faith in crypto and some really see it as false hope. Another large part of the population tend to know very little about it.

I'm mostly dismissive about it when people treat it like an investment or a new stock market. As if the first stock market was a good idea. 
For buying illegal shit it makes sense.

My husband is really into it. He has about 25 graphics cards that he uses to mine Ethereum and some others he enjoys it. I don’t really bother with it. 
I saw a meme that said Cryptocurrency is like Mary Kay for young men. 💀 Accurate!

Be very careful and do some research on whatever project you are investing in. It is crazy volatile. Despite what some people think, I believe we are a very long way from bit coin hitting a million dollars or bit coin becoming a main for of currency. I’ve bought and sold small amounts. The swings are wild, especially on the smaller coins. It’s not something I would invest large amounts in but currently watching cardano and might purchase a small amount if the price is right.

We own a nice chunk of Bitcoin,EtheriumLithium and a few others. With Forbes recent prediction of bitcoin spikes for April we bought more in hopes of upping our profits. We've don't extremely well with Crypto Currency and will continue to do invest until otherwise. Crypto Currency is the future,its not going anywhere...

Don't have any and won't buy any. We have several forms of investments because we chose to diversify our money. All of our financial teams won't go near crypto and advise all their clients from middle class to multi millionaires to avoid it. It is incredibly volatile and something as small as a tweet from a specific celebrity or wealthy known person can send it tumbling. There is no secure or trusted 3rd party to guarantee anything. We don't even know who started it as that person is still unnamed. And you are not going after anything tangible. Crypto is a made up thing...there is no physical tangible commodity it is based off of and is banking on greater fool theory to keep it going. There is less legal protections in dealings and the same tax amd finance laws don't even apply currently. There is a reason why a lot of awful people use crypto for crimes and horrible things. Me and my husband have worked too hard for our money to be able to be affected by an Elon Musk tweet. A lot of people backing it have the money to lose and not be truly affected but there are too many middle class people hoping to cash in on this and that is scary to me. We are thankfully in a financial position yes we could lose a huge sum of money and be fine, I won't risk that with crypto still but we could, and we would be totally fine. I see too many people putting huge chunks of their life's saving in it though and right now it looks good but what if one day it tanks to no value. There is no security net or anything to protect that and those people just lost everything. If people are fully and truly educated in it and still wanna try, more power to them, but it is being pushed by too many very rich famous people onto people who don't understand it. My company has financial advisors that are free to use for any of my employees, budget training, investment, stocks, general advice....whatever they need. They get at least a few a month asking about crypto and the amount of people thinking of buying bitcoin or dogecoin just because a celebrity keeps touting it is terrible. Only a few have actually gone through with buying. In a country where a pot of people can't dully explain how loans or stocks works, crypto scares me for a pot of people. We personally though aren't touching that shot with a 100 ft pole. Big big changes and some security backing would need to be implemented to even look into again.

I started with 10 bucks of bitcoin ages ago that my boss gave me when it was basically worthless. I have a few grand in that I play around with other types. It’s sort of interesting and I’m certainly not putting all my eggs in one basket 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t really understand it... but my husband has stocks in Bitcoin and I have stocks in Coinbase. We haven’t made any money from it. I only have the stocks I have because Megan thee Stallion gave them to me 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 I honestly don’t even think it’s a full share what I have... I just don’t touch it.
