Living in a state I can’t call home

It’s been 14 years that I have lived in this state and I would have to say that I truly dislike it here.

Anyone else feel this way about where they live?

I moved from Michigan 14 years ago for college. I left my family and friends. While in college I met my husband. We got engaged, and married days after I graduated. My husband has a child from a previous relationship so there was no going back to Michigan.

I love my husband. I love my family. I love the life we have built. I even own two businesses! But I still hate it here. It doesn’t feel like home. I don’t think it will ever feel like home. There is a piece of me that is convinced we will eventually move to Michigan. Doubt we will, but I dream about it all the time.
