Allergic to Lidocaine - Natural Birth

Long story short: I am allergic to lidocaine and having a natural birth and need a numbing/pain management alternative. See below.

I am due to have my second baby sometime between May 15-June 5th. I am delivering at a hospital with my midwife (same as first birth) and will be delivering natural with no epidural (same as last time). However, I found out I am allergic to lidocaine so I can’t use it to numb if I need stitches after I give birth. I needed several internal stitches last time. Is anyone else allergic to lidocaine and gave birth naturally and found a good numbing/pain relief alternative? My midwife is looking into it, but said as far as she knows lidocaine is my only option. Help!
