Flat nipples and breast pump recommendation

So with my first, i was told i have flat nipples and in turn had issues breastfeedings and wound up doing formula.  I want to try to pump this time around but want to see if any pumps are superior with regard to having flat nipples. I can get one free through insurance.

With my first I had inverted nipples, my daughter could not latch so I called my mom and asked her to run grab a nipple shield at Target. If I had not started with that my daughter would not have nursed at the hospital. I successfully nursed 19 months with her. I used the Spectra S2 pump which is one of the pumps that almost all insurances cover. It is medical grade and it is really the best. I have tried 3 top brands and by far my favorite is the Spectra S2.
By the time I finished nursing my nipples were huge.... sorry tmi. You can nurse with flat nipples. Pack a nipple shield in your hospital bag, it is a makeshift very thin fake nipple that you will place over your breast, baby will latch to it, it takes time but baby will want to nurse.

Find a pump with good suction. I used the Spectra S2 with my daughter and I'm using the Motif Luna with battery with my next kid due in July. I recommend watching YouTube reviews and hauls of breastpumps to learn more about what options you have. 
I used aeroflowbreastpumps.com to order all of my pumps. My Luna wasn't fully covered by my insurance but as someone who pumps on the go and needs higher suction due to flat nipples I chose to pay a little for it. The process is easy and all online.

I understand that struggle! I ended up exclusively pumping for a year. One thing to consider, especially if you have had issues with milk supply is to rent a pump from the hospital. The hospital grade pumps have much stronger suction, and are usually fairly inexpensive.
