I used the dog pee pads for the first few weeks during diaper changes. It saved my sanity since she peed or pooped literally every time I did a diaper change. Our changing table & bed would have been soaked every time & caused way more work for myself. Now she’s older I don’t use them so much

You don’t need as much as the checklists say! Get a good carrier/wrap (we used the Infantino carrier and loved it). A travel system. Hated burp cloths because they’re small and didn’t absorb, so we have a lot of receiving blankets. Some people swear by the Velcro swaddles, but my son unsafely broke out often. If you bottle feed and want to give pacifiers, get the same brand ones. Baby socks disappear so like 2 packages (about 12 pair) in each size. You don’t need baby shoes. Hats? My kids are summer babies so I rarely used the newborn hats. Mittens? I’d say 6-12 pair of the ones that are longer down the arm. They stay on better and they’re better made. 5-10 onesies in each size and sleeve length (except you don’t need long sleeve in the super hot summer, so make obvious assumptions). 3-5 pants/shorts. My son loved in sleepers until like 3-4 months so we have a lot of 0-3 month sleepers. But assume 7-10 sleepers in each size. Most people like the zippers, my husband and I were weird and preferred the snaps. Don’t overdo diapers and wipes because baby may not fit or they have an allergy. Bath soap/lotion we used Euricin. So make sure you get the non scented sensitive skin products.
