Who eats first?

Question

My baby (10 months) and I eat at the same time/ I will help him first and then eat my own food when he’s in a good spot . I’ve seen moms who will have their baby sit and watch them eat, then feed them. 
What does everyone else do?

If they’re relying on me for food they eat first, then I take care of myself. Once my toddler started feeding himself I serve him first but he’s usually distracted or playing or not wanting to eat so I dish his up, eat my own and then focus on getting him to eat.

It is SUPER important to model eating all types of foods to your baby. Always eat together!

By 10mo, we were all eating together at the table. I dish up the kids first because they eat slower. But we’re all eating together.

I've never had my daughter watch me eat unless she's finished her meal before I'm done eating mine. When she was bottle fed she would eat before me but afterwards she would always sit at the table with us in her high chair and watch. Once she started eating solids with her bottle id bottle feed her first and then she would eat her solids at the table with us. Once she was eating full regular meals at a year old I would get her plate first but we would all sit at the table and eat together. We always make it a point to eat meals together.

I have the kids plates ready before my husband brings them in for dinner. Then we all eat together.

Once my kids are able to self feed (usually around 8 or 9m) I let them play with food while I eat. Whatever they haven't finished when I'm done I help feed them.

I do my best to eat together and even if I’m not hungry I’ll have a plate and a couple bites of the same food. He feeds himself (18 months) 
This puts let’s pressure on him so I’m not staring at him as he takes every bite plus he gets to learn how to  eat, use utensils, chew properly, etc

Since my daughter was 6 months, we have all been eating together as a family. 
She was brought to table starting at 4 months to preparing her for starting solids. 
She’s 8 months old now. Feeds herself. We all eat at the same time! 
This super important to teach babe how to feed themselves, chew/swallow, sit at the table, understand meal time, and so much more!
