my family judges me for my walks.

Im 21, in college, but home for the summer. Since going to college, i let myself get a little lax on exercise. I didnt gain weight, but i did lose my physical endurance as well as muscle tone. This year, i made a resolution to do better. I began to take walks, then i took up hiking. Every few days a week, i walk about 10 miles, which takes a while—but its freeing and i really enjoy being outdoors.

Ok, leading to now: Ive heard comments made by my mother and stepdad that I’m “weird” and “care too much” about walking. When i set out on the treadmill, as the trail in my hometown was under maintenance, my parents kept shooting me dirty looks. I overheard my stepdad call me an anorexic. I don’t do this every day, its a treat every couple days a week. My parents do NOT exercise whatsoever, and they both are quick to label any exercise thats repeated as a cause of disorder.

Am i really weird?? Or wrong?? This break has been hellish so far and i needed perspective on how to handle tjem.
