First IUI (medicated) - tips/advice??

Hi all - I’m 35 yo and TTC #1.  Planning to start IUI for the first time with letrozole and HCG trigger (Ovidrel).  Would love to hear any tips, tricks, or anything I should be prepared for? What do you wish you knew before starting? Anything helps. Thanks! 🙏🏼

I had some bad side effects from Letrozole the first IUI, seems much better this cycle. I had hot flashes, night sweats and a lot of mood swings and splitting headaches. I'm taking it this cycle after lunch so if I get hot flashes it is during work (and I work from home so it is fine).
I did find out that Sam's Club offers Letrozole for much cheaper than I was getting from CVS. We have Sam's Plus and it is like $3.33 per month for the Letrozole.
For giving yourself the trigger shot:
Pinch the area several times before injecting. And if you want to try to numb it a bit you could ice it beforehand.

I’ve been taking Letrozole for 5 cycles now, with no side effects. I take mine at night before I go to bed. I took 2.5 mg the first two cycles and 5 mg the last three. We just did our first round of IUI this cycle, and will test on the 4th. IUI was a breeze for me, especially compared to the HSG I had done a few weeks ago. IUI felt very similar to a Pap smear. I’ve had some minor pelvic discomfort since then, but my guess is that was from the trigger shot. Best of luck to you and baby dust! ❤️

Hi and good luck with your journey. I had my first IUI today 😬 
I wish someone would have told me the process and long it was going to take for the actual IUI procedure. My anxiety was and still is at 1000. 
But my process was on CD 5 I went and they did a scan of my follicles and began taking letrezole that night. Took it for CD's 5-9. 
Then CD 12 went in, follicles were too small not ready. Thought i wasnt going to be able to proceed with IUI this month. 
Had to return on CD 15 had 2 follicles one was 18mm and one was 22mm. 
On CD 16 I was instructed to do the ovidrel shot.
On CD 18 IUI wS done.
Hope this helps because I definitely felt lost in the process.
