Is it weird to plan a memorial before they're gone?
My Oma is practically my mother. I started thinking about this 3 years ago when she had a stroke and we kept being told she could die any moment. Well my tough ol' bird has refused to die (which I'm thankful for more time with her).
Anyway my cousin, sister, and I each got the word "Oma" on our arms with different writing to celebrate the woman who brought us together.

I have planned that I am going to get a cross stitch floral tattoo right underneath it. My oma cross stitched and she taught me a lot of crafting. It's something we enjoyed together. Here are some of her pieces.

To the left is my Oma's work. She has embroidered whole pieces of furniture upholstery. My stuff is more cutesy but she is proud of it nonetheless and shows off her little floral hoop I made for her (top right). But I want to use her pieces on the left as some flowers cascading down my forearm.
But I've been feeling guilty about having this planned. I only want to get it when she passes to celebrate her life. She always used to put fake flowers on her mothers grave for years and years because people would steal her fresh flowers. I figured I would keep her flowers on my arm so no one could steal them.
