Scheduled c-section?

Anyone one else having a planed c-section, how are you mentally preparing for the surgery and recovery. I’m so stressed about the healing process . I know it will be so painful 😓 advise please.

I am having a scheduled C-Section tomorrow and I am calm about everything.My prayer is to God to keep me and baby safe and healthy.I thank God for the 9 months 2 weeks

I am! It will be my third. Honestly if you keep up with the pain meds and make sure to move (even though you don’t want to) it helps recovery go so much better! I hardly felt pain with my second! You will do so awesome! We got this! 💕💕

I am! They were supposed to have it June 9th but moved up to June 2 due to some early warning signs of preeclampsia. I had that with my last pregnancy. The emergency C-section was awful and traumatizing. So this time, I am reminding myself it is scheduled. It won’t be like it was before because baby and I are doing well. Giving myself grace to heal and getting things done now are part of it. Think positive thoughts, pray if you do and try to remember that you will be ok. I didn’t even take pain meds besides ibuprofen after my last C-section. Cushion your scar area while sitting or laying down at first and check out csection recovery things like from momfrida.

I had my first Nov 2020 and will have my second next Wednesday. Recovery went way better after my first than I could’ve ever expected. Take depends to the hospital and plan to use them during recovery due to the bleeding afterwards and it is so much more comfy on the incision. Rest, and stay up with your medication that they offer. You will do great, mama!

Having my csection on 6/7. Honestly can't wait any longer. I'm so drained having this baby in me I wish I scheduled an earlier date.  Mentally I'm prepared for the csection. My first I was in labor for over 40 hours but still ended up with a csection (which went very with and I recovered really well). That could possibly be the reason I'm so happy to get this baby out in less than an hour. Definitely take the meds they prescribe you consistently. I thought I was good at one point and since I'm not big on meds I stopped taking them and that was a big mistake as the pain just overwhelmed me when the meds were out/low in my system. This will be my 3rd c section. First one was an emergency c section. I had ppd but recovered pretty well. My second one I was planning on a VBAC but the last two weeks the midwife said baby was too big and recommended a c section. I ended with a bladder repair because it was torn in half. Did not have ppd but I struggled with the healing. This one has been a planned c section from the beginning and have two toddlers (3 and almost 2) so I am really nervous about the healing. But I am calm about the surgery if that makes sense

I am having a scheduled C-section on June 6 at 37w3d. I am definitely worried about it but have no choice, as I have scar tissue from previous uterine surgery that makes it unsafe for me to labor. Any way you have a child I think is scary. We just have to trust our doctors and also go easy on ourselves. Best of luck to you!

I just had my first c section and I will say get up and move as much as you can but also listen to your body and rest when it needs too. I had twins so I HAD to start moving more than I would have without any motivation and I’m feeling great at two weeks post op. The surgery itself was so easy. I did get the “shakes” during surgery but it didn’t bother me. The only thing that hurt at all was the lidocaine injection before the spinal block and that was minor. You got this and you’ll do great!!

My first baby was born via emergency c-section which, don’t get me wrong, was a super tough experience given how poorly baby and I were both doing at that point but it absolutely saved our lives.  Pain really wasn’t that bad and scar healed up very nicely.  This time, we have a c-section planned on 6/8 and I couldn’t be more ready!    I’m so excited to be able to go in calm/NOT after 10 hrs of hard labor at home, totally prepared and know when baby will be out.  Unlike my first, I’m really not nervous at all, just excited!  Cannot wait to be out of this god-awful sciatic nerve pain and kick this annoying heartburn to the curb once and for all.
