This is a controversial post just looking to see where some people stand
Do you feel as if the struggle to find jobs since COVID is over and now people are being too picky or “too good for” a job that is available and would rather not work than take that said job?
I still see ALOT of people saying that it’s been hard to find a job and are out of work for x months / year - DUE TO COVID. 
I understand the family or babysitting / daycare affordability which causes a delay on scheduling and what is available 
But I’m saying overall for those who are fully capable without restrictions  AND still using covid as an excuse to not be working ? 
There are thousands of jobs out there and many places are understaffed there’s no Covid issue / restrictions anymore in MOST / not all but MOST states

People deserve to be paid enough to afford to live so they need to be picky. There are too many corporations out there making millions while their employees live below the poverty line despite working full time. Shit ain't right. I'm happy people are standing up for themselves and proving their value by refusing to work for pennies.

I've had trouble finding a job that meets my needs. It has been 6 months and I have applied to over 100 jobs, had a few interviews and not been offered a position yet. I have to work around my kids schedule and I'm mostly looking at work from home jobs so that limits me. I absolutely will not work for less money than I'm worth either. It's not worth it. 
That said, I think there are a lot of different reasons why people aren't working. I've heard that some business are saying they're hiring but never actually hire anyone, or they pay too little or have a toxic work environment so no one wants to work there.

For me it's hard finding a job over the vaxx, and not covid specifically. I do not have the c19 vaxx and am still unsure about it as I have health issues that may conflict with the vaxx. But I am seeing a doctor soon to discuss everything, and see if they think it's okay for me to without repercussions. 
Most jobs that are work from home even are requiring it and it sucks

So I was searching for a job last year. 
I did get some interviews, but I was often dismissed either due to chemistry or others having more experience or whatever. I took the first job I was offered honestly. And despite constantly saying how basically no one applies and how many is needed in my area to fill the gap there is it still took my 10 months to land that job. I know it has gotten a bit worse since, but honestly they need to stop being as picky also when people apply.

A lot of people shifted their lives around completely due to covid, and have realized they don’t have to bend and flex and walk on eggshells to keep their employer happy and stay employed. People are choosing to be more selective about pay, hours, benefits, etc. I don’t see anything wrong with that. My husband left his career 4 months into covid and couldn’t be happier. He stayed home with our little for a while, and has started a new career with hours he likes. To be clear, he made enough at his previous job for me to easily stay home had I chosen to, but had no control over hours, and as a manger, had to cover when people called out. I stayed with my career because they bent and flexed and basically let us have free run as long as our work was done. It involved being an essential employee and going into the public arena, but people also had the option to work from home if they were more comfortable with that. The time has come for people to have work WORK for them, and it’s great that people have recognized that. I don’t really care if they categorize it as a covid issue or a done with corporate bullshit issue 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a baby that was just in the PICU because of a common cold. Got told we were lucky he didn't die when we had covid because of his issues. I'm not ready to put him or his sisters in daycare. But his dad works. Also 23 weeks pregnant tomorrow so I'm not ready to expose an infant to it either. Plus 2800 a month was my entire months worth of paychecks and my fiance was carrying us anyway so 🤷🏻‍♀️ you can *try* to call me lazy of you want to but 4 kids under 4, far from it.

I feel that Covid taught a lot of people that corporations give exactly ZERO fucks about you as a person. They don’t care if you’re sick and could spread a deadly virus to their other employees or customers (speaking to OG Covid here), they don’t care if you have a sick kid/spouse/parent at home who needs your help, they don’t care about anything except how much money is coming in. And when people lost a lot of jobs with Covid it taught them we are capable of surviving without those shit jobs. So now people aren’t willing to settle for $7/hour for a job where they’ll be asked to work when sick and get food thrown at them because “the customer is always right.” People want to be treated as people.

I’ve had jobs (and am currently employed) but the problem I’ve consistently run into is no one is very accommodating to work/home life balance (I have a 9 month old and am a single mom). So when my son is sick at the beginning of the month and then again at the end, because I’m forced to put him in daycare, and I have to take time off both times to take him to appts and nurse him back to health jobs lose interest and let me go. It’s ridiculous. 
I have never worked a job for less than a year and this year alone I’ve been let go from 3 jobs already due to my sons health and my own and childcare restrictions. No daycares operate on weekends or past 6 pm so I’m already hard pressed to find a job to accommodate my Monday through Friday from 7-5:30 schedule needs, not to mention sicknesses he brings home from daycare to me. And anything willing to accommodate me can only pay me $14-16 an hour. I have been in a salaried position since I was 18 years old and have never made less than $50k a year (I’m a very hard worker and know my worth) yet now I can’t find anything for more than $16 an hour willing to accommodate me. Not to mention if I make more than $16 an hour I lose Medicaid, WIC and food stamps for my son and it’s the only way I’m able to survive right now. 
The workforce industry needs to up wages to give single income families or single individuals a realistic living wage and to provide reasonable accommodation for families with young children.

I've applied for no short of 200 jobs in the last year and a half fully qualified for them and have all the relevant credentials, I have been accepted on an interview for 10 (and didn't get them) non of the others got back to me, nothing to do with laziness
