Weight gain

Haley

Is anyone else concerned about their weight gain in pregnancy? My paperwork said ti gain 25-35 lbs if you start with normal BMI but I’m 24 weeks and already gained 21 lbs and I just am trying not to burden myself too bad but I can already feel myself stressing about “bouncing back” once baby is here. 😰

Oh girl. I gained a little over 50lbs with my first in 2020. Lost it immediately. Gave birth again in 2021 and gained over 70lbs!!!😂 I was over 190lbs at the end😮‍💨 (even delivered at 36 weeks so who knows what would have happened if it went to 40 weeks+)! I was 130 by 2.5 months postpartum and 120lbs by 5 months postpartum. So if you gain a lot, just get back to eating right when it’s over and I bet you’ll be all good!❤️💕 (it’s all so hard—hang in there)!

Trust me, you’ll lose the weight if you breastfeed. I was shocked how quickly the weight fell off! I’m also 24 weeks and I try to ignore the scale. My dr would tell me if he was considered.

I was in a similar situation. Just slightly overweight. I gained 40lbs and lost all of it by 6 weeks postpartum. Just focus on fueling your body with healthy food choices and try not to stress too much. ❤️

I wouldn’t worry about it. I am a little overweight, so I tried really hard to only gain 20 pounds with my first pregnancy. I ended up gaining 18 pounds and I was back to my normal weight 4 days postpartum! You will bounce back so much quicker than you realize. Just focus on fueling your body and baby!

Don’t worry about it. I didn’t gain hardly any weight in my last month or so. The 25-35lbs is just a suggestion so you know what’s normal to expect. If you gain 40lbs, you’ll still be fine. Just don’t go crazy and eat a tub of ice cream every night lol
