11 weeks of breastfeeding coming to an end 🥛

My breastfeeding story

I was very very lucky that my little lady latched immediately and happily continued with a very good latch - even now. Don’t get me wrong - we worked for it - no dummies for the first 2 weeks to ensure no nipple confusion. At 2+2 we introduced a bottle with breast milk only, just once a day every few days so she was used to it. I pumped out over 20 bags from 0-8 weeks and froze them so there was a back up supply. Introduced a formula bottle (rare) when I had frozen my supply and then she woke up early and hungry.

But then it all went too sh*t … week 9 we had some big family stresses plus our first weekend away and we are currently less than a month till our wedding. STRESS!!

Well of course my milk starts to slow. I don’t eat or drink enough for 2 days and now we are on a downward spiral. I also didn’t know I was drying up for 2 days so my poor little lady was starving.

But. I haven’t written this post for advice. I’ve written it to say… it’s okay.

It. Is. Okay. She still gets a little snack off me before bed and in the middle of the day.

We are now in a routine and bottles are working.

She is fed. She is happy. She is nourished. And my life is actually easier. I feel healthier and not so weak after her big feeds.

I just wanted to share this story so you ladies know it is okay. FED IS BEST! 🙏🏻 🥛 👍🏻
