Putting 1yr old to sleep
I’m really lucky at the moment my almost 1yr old is doing great at sleeping through the night in her crib (it took a long time but we got here) BUT….
I have to hold her until she’s in a deep sleep before I can put her in the cot otherwise she kicks off screaming. She starts nursery soon and they can’t hold her to fall asleep for her naps so I need to deal with it.
It’s so frustrating but when I read the articles they say to put her down drowsy but awake and place hand on her if she becomes unsettled. I can’t even get to this point because she’ll stand up crying and reach for me until I pick her up and cuddle her again. Has anyone dealt with this? What advice can you give to get to the point of putting them down awake and then going off to sleep?
