How does BBT work?

Can anyone give me some insight on my tracking please? I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be looking at with bbt. I used this method 8 years ago when I had my daughter but now I’m lost and I can’t find any good info lol

You may have ovulated as early as CD10. I would combine BBT with OPKs for more info. Some women have temps that spike up immediately after ovulation and some take a day or two to rise. For me, my temp is lowest on the day of ovulation and then usually takes two full days to reach the peak temp, and for some the temperature rise takes 2-3 days. But based on this you definitely ovulated since you see a significant rise in temperature that stays for 3+ days. Good luck!

This shows you ovulated in cycle day 13. You’ve got three temps higher than the previous six, which confirms ovulation. If it stays high for 16 days it might indicate pregnancy but there’s not really anything else in a bbt chart that does. It’s mostly to confirm exactly when you ovulate and maybe warn when your period is coming (if you see a big drop around the end of your usual luteal phase).
