Is this normal 6 year old behavior
I am at my wits end. My 6 year old throws tantrums still and I'm going mad.
Today her best friend came over for the first time with her family for a play date. They spent a few hours having fun, and then they left.
After we got dinner from a place our daughter asked for. We all ate dinner together and had a good night.
She threw a tantrum a week ago and got items taken away, she just got them back today.
Then, I told her it's time to brush her teeth. She said "no." I said yes it is. She said "no."
I said "okay, I told you last week when you lost privileges if you keep talking back I'm taking your stuff back. I'm taking it now."
She then throws the stuffed animal she's holding at me. She screams out loud like a siren, waking her baby sibling and scaring our dog causing him to howl.
I take her tablet and her current favorite stuffed animal. I tell her to go brush her teeth.
She screams.
I go in there and she demands me to put her toothpaste on her toothbrush.
I said ask nicely and I will.
She does. I watch while she brushes her teeth because she keeps only brushing the front. She hides behind the shower curtain so I can't see. I move it, she whines and screams at me and brushes her teeth frantically only the front two teeth.
I take the toothbrush and brush her teeth quickly.
She screams at me.
We put her to bed, she continues whining and coughing from whining so loud. We take her bedtime books next to her bed and put her to bed.
She screams GIVE ME A HUG AND KISS!!!!!!!! YOU DONT LOVE ME?!!!!
She whines some more. My husband calms her down with deep breaths and talking with her.
I however am sitting here about ready to scream because idk if this is normal or not. She does not have any developmental delays.
