What products can I use?

I’m not a make up person the reason being well I do curl my eyes always! But full face I can never get it to look good my skin is mixed so I have oily on my tbone area y dry on the rest so when I apply the foundation it looks horrible!! I always purchase foundation why it for a couple of times but always remove it because it doesn’t look good it’s too dry on my cheek area looks tacky! Any help on what I can use?? I have use the it brand, Mac,L’Oréal just to name a few so I know it’s not the foundation it’s my skin!! I use a cleanser, moisturizer, I do use a primer before the foundation but again I have tried so many and my face looks ugly dry when after foundation. I would really love to be able to go to a party or for a special occasion get pretty. Any advice on what I can do to my face? Or is there anything else besides foundation that I can use? I had acne during my teenage years so I do have some spots that I would like to cover to feel confident.. Thanks in advice ladies
