How does everyone do it? Example: Father’s Day. You have your husband, father and father in law. How do you swing everyone on this day if your parents and in laws aren’t super close. My husband works 12 hr shifts and is working today from 8am-8pm. So I invited my parents over for supper and asked if my in laws were okay celebrating Father’s Day next weekend at the cottage when my husband is off as well and celebrate him and my FIL. My MIL said sure but I know she’s peeved about it. I always feel backed in a corner, especially when my husband works. I’m at a loss. Then she texts me today and says she’ll drop off my husbands Father’s Day gifts to him when he is off work, thus making me feel even more crappier for not seeing his dad today. Mind you, she is great for the most part but she has never once wished me a happy Mother’s Day in the past two years that I’ve been a mom. Rant over.
