Any advice? Early labor but sent home

Kristen

I started having contractions at 9:30 last night. I was told to come in to labor and delivery so we got there about 3am. My contractions were getting stronger and more frequent. The Dr could see them happening every 3 min on the monitors. They checked me twice an hour apart and I did dilate to about 2cm but since I was making slow progress they sent me home. They said I’m in early labor but it could still be hours or even a couple days. They want me to come back when the contractions are so strong I can’t focus on anything but the pain or my water breaks. Since I’m not 38 weeks they said they wouldn’t give me pitocin to speed things up which I didn’t want anyways. But I’m over 37 weeks so they’re not going to stop labor from happening either. Any advice to make this speed up? Baby is healthy and I’m still having contractions every few minutes now hours later but they’re only very gradually getting stronger. If I’m gonna be dealing with contractions I might as well be working towards birth… any advice to help speed things up if there’s any way to do that would be appreciated
