Gender myths?

Apparently, the girls at work said they conceived boys when they had sex before ovulation. 
Also the others say they had sex around the time of ovulation And after and had girls.
I feel like this isn't true.

It’s all determined by the sperm.

The theory (I think) is that since boy sperm are faster, yet die quicker, you could have a better chance conceiving a boy on ovulation day. And girl sperm are slower, yet live longer, so if you just have sex a couple days before ovulation, you're more likely to have a girl. It might be backward, but I thought that's what the theory was. We had 2 girls and just had sex every day of my fertile week, including ovulation day.

It is in true. If it did happen then it was by a freak accident. No matter when you have sex you still have a 50/50 chance of the gender.

Well they has a 50/50 shot. There's no difference in the speed or longevity of x and Y sperm so have sex close to ovulation. You get what you get.
