My mom lives far from me, about 10 hours away. She visits or I visit a few times a year. She always raised me to be a very ethical moral person and has always really looked down on people who don’t align with her ethics but lately it’s like she’s become very mean to others. She’s down visiting me and my kids and we’ve been eating out a lot. She usually offers to pay. She randomly said “I haven’t been tipping people lately.” I was like “why? All the food has been so good. I can tip if you want me to.” She shrugged and said “no, I don’t know why, I just don’t feel like it. It’s mean I know but I don’t care.” I was like “umm okay… that is mean, that’s their income.” She shrugged again and was like “oh well I don’t care.” Now my mom has always been so ethical and moral and this is just so random to me. I brought it up again and she just says she doesn’t care. But then she started talking about Republicans are evil and vile for the Roe V Wade fiasco and it’s unethical and she went on like a 15 min rant about it. Talked about how it’s wrong they are banning books in school and censoring black and LGBT voices and So it’s like she has all these strong beliefs about human rights but… she refuses to tip anymore? I don’t get it and I don’t know what to think.
