Am I atheist because I don’t believe in a god?

* I wanted to know because for the longest time I was told that ment you believe in satan . I never questioned it so I never considered myself as an atheist. But just today I did look it up and I seen the definition but with that being said I also wanted other people opinion on what it mean to be atheist and not just Google if that makes any sense. I’m not here to judge a single soul , I just want a better understanding on the topic. I’m also not deleting it because I never thought it was a dumb question and I only went anon because some people can be very judgmental when it comes to religion
