Just curious-- because I genuinely do not have a reference for this. I don't remember ever kissing my parents on the lips as a little one, but our son has started to do this-- take our faces in his hands and plant a big old kiss on the lips.

It makes him SOOOO happy and my initial reaction was surprise and that it was cute. We have always kissed him on the forehead, cheek and nose so this was his way of showing affection back. But my husband told me last night that a part of him is worried if we keep letting him do this, we might be impressing the wrong ideas if what is and isn't acceptable.

My question is-- is there a period where this is acceptable and a time when it should stop? Do any other moms out there have a very affectionate toddler who gives kisses on the lips?
