2 week not nursing 15 minutes each side

Hey guys,

I have a 2 week old baby. He will nurse 10 minutes one one breast then 5 minutes at most on the other. My goal is to get 15 minutes each breast. I’ll try undressing him and keeping him awake but it doesn’t seem to do the trick.

I’m curious if he could just be getting what he needs. I have a HUGE supply and a fast letdown. He takes gulps when he nurses. He doesn’t need to do much to stimulate my milk to letdown. He also sleeps solid 2-3 hours after each session.

My first had struggled to stay latched and wouldn’t eat much and wouldn’t sleep. He’d constantly latch and unlatch from my breast. So, I don’t know what’s normal.

My 2 weeker also gained over a pound in a week at the last weight check so it makes me think he’s doin alright? Everything I read just says newborns need 30 minutes to nurse.
