Husband didn’t pay the hospital private room

I had a baby a year ago. We live in Canada so we only needed to pay for the private room. My husband insisted we get one. Well here we are a year later and they have filed a report on my credit because I didnt pay for the room. My husband was making more than 100k a year last year why didn’t he pay it? The month I gave birth he later confessed he spent 10k in a month but he doesn’t remember for what?! Fast forward to now he has lost his job, he is still getting paid from his company but not as much as before. He expect me to pay for it but I’m so frustrated because he was earning a lot last year but NEVER offered me anything, he was even trying to make me participate in household expenses as much as he did with my 25k salary.
