How much did it cost you?!

How much did it cost you to furnish your apartment or space? I did my additions and it comes to around $6000. Its my first nice apartment. But im wondering if this is normal 😭

It depends on your taste, I was on my own & barely making ends meet so I furnished my apartment off of Facebook marketplace lol but if you can afford it & it’s what you like then I feel like whatever amount you want to spend is fine

A lot of money.. couch was $2,000. Tv was about $700ish. The stand was another $200ish. Bed was around $1000 for the bed frame and mattress(all off Amazon) dresser was actually only $60 at goodwill. Kitchen table was like $350 off OfferUp. There’s obviously other furniture we own, but that’s the main furniture that I can remember. But I did find a very cute white vanity in the dumpster at my apartment! And my nightstand was in the dumpster years ago that I took it. And a big, beautiful black mirror that I found in my apartment dumpster too.

Yes, I think that’s great!   I calculated mine too😆 So mine was a bit more at 10k, but I bought EVERYTHING, so I thought that was pretty good and reasonable.   It was only 1000 sq ft (2-bedroom/2-bath).  I’m so jealous you’re at this stage.  That was such a fun time!!!!

Sounds like you bought a lot of stuff or just new stuff. It can really range in price depending on how people furnish. Some people thrift or get things given to them from friends and family so they spend very little but if your buying everything that sounds about right. Some people may even spend more.

My first apartment was furnished by thrifting and things family didn’t want anymore. Definitely under $1000. 
I slowly over the years bought new pieces in my style.

We spent around 8K furnishing the place . However , we bought everything new . At our old place i think we spent about 2K or 3K . Both were 2 beds 1.5 BA. Our new place is just bigger .

I am on my own so I can not afford expensive stuff. Most of my furniture I have borrowed from a friend. I just got a few things that were cheapest like soda, tv, dinning chairs, nightstand and drawers for my cloths. This is your personal apartment that you are leaving in if you like and can afford to spend that much money it is fine. It is not worth to spend that kind of money if gone rent it to somebody but if you are the one who will be leaving there is fine.

There’s such a range to this question. Like, materials, sustainability and design all cost money. My couch alone is like the cost of a car.
