Vegan kids

We are a plant based household.

I have a major fear of judgement because my kid is vegan.

I've seen stories that CPS gets involved because of dietary choices and doctors report parents for not giving their children meat and dairy.

Though my child's pediatrician has always praised her growth and health and has told me I'm doing great making sure she's receiving all of the proper nutrients the nurses have been very judgemental and one doctor we saw when our regular wasn't available made a huge deal too.

It's so frustrating because our lifestyle and diet is important to us and we feel like we are living the best most healthiest life for our family. Our child's health is so important and we believe that by giving her a plant based diet we are doing what's right for her. She even understands why we chose to eat this way as we are not judgmental towards people with the average diet and we explain that she can have a choice. It's not like we are forcing her at all. She has a dairy allergy anyway that we discovered in infancy when the hospital wouldn't give me a plant based alter I formula when my baby couldn't latch well to nurse yet.

So my kid has a check up coming up and her regular pediatrician is booked and we have to see another that we haven't seen before and I'm just so worried about the possible judgement and I'm tired of that.

So my question for other vegan families is how do you cope with the judgement of having vegan children? Do you worry when taking them to the doctor? Have you ever been accused of not prioritizing your child's health because of their diet?
