Super dramatic husband

Whenever my husband gets upset or we get into a little fight he will not talk to me for days. He will come home and act like I’m not there. Won’t text me all day at work. We got into a squabble two days ago because I told him not to insult my dad. My dad has a tendency to cuss and say what’s on his mind but is an absolute wonderful person and dad/grandfather. He was on the phone with our 5 year old and said some cuss words and my husband was complaining saying my son can’t talk to him anymore if he can’t stop cussing. Then he called him a “weird old man.” I was like “do not insult my dad like that, I will talk to him about the cussing but I do not appreciate you insulting my family. I don’t insult yours.” He got super upset and told me I am mean and unfair and now hasn’t spoken to me since. He has always kinda been like this but it is getting way worse and he will go over a week before he even acknowledges me and then always tells me I need to apologize to him. I’m so drained by his sensitivity. What should I say when he gets home today? I’m over this.
