What do you think about monkey pox?

Today I saw in the new that Biden administration has declared the monkey pox issue an emergency. Do you think we’ll go back to being quarantined?

I do not. This isn’t a novel virus, we have existing vaccines. We just need to ramp up production and get vulnerable populations vaccinated.

It's mostly just a formality to get access to special funding so they can more effectively track it, get training to providers, ensure availability of treatments, roll out vaccines, etc. It's really not too different from why they declare an emergency for hurricanes or flooding.

I think that would be ridiculous. There are already vaccines for this. Why would we go under quarantine? If that's the case we better quarantine for influenza every year. Or let's quarantine every child under the age of 5 indefinitely because RSV does not have a vaccination and can kill a baby.

No. If you research it, it’s not spread through the air like Covid is. Yes, you can get it if you’re really close to someone who has it for a long period of time, but it’s not the same. My understanding is you have to be all up on that person or have direct skin to skin contact. IMO, this can be avoided more by hand washing, disinfecting items, etc than it could with Covid

No real need to be concerned. Take reasonable precautions - don’t go randomly touching people at Walmart lol - Mpx does not spread easily like Covid does. You need close prolonged contact with an infected individual. We are already offering vaccines to the population this has affected the most thus far. Declaring this an emergency will allow funding to provide vaccines to more individuals. 
But as far as day to day life, going to the store, park, zoo, etc., your risk is minimal. ✅

I think monkey pox, is not right for people are gay  having sex skin to skin knowing what does that mean like it's okay when a guy puts his penis to a man inside other guy both in the front and back as well. It's just gross and it's not right.

Monkey pox (we have been told in the uk) that it’s transmits through gay men? I’ll see if I can find the news paper and post it. Another thing for us to look at it whilst they do other things behind the scenes

No I don’t so… this isn’t like covid where we don’t know anything and people are dying like crazy. Monkey pox has been around for awhile, there’s been a vaccine for it. The issue we’re having is there aren’t enough vaccines. Which is why they are trying to ramp up production and find a new way to administer the vaccine that would allow what they already have to stretch. (At least this is my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong.)

People need to be properly educated on what exactly it is. Current risk groups needs to be targeted for extra assistance. Everyone who thinks they have it should be checked. 
They are handling this super shitty because its almost exclusively effecting gay men right now. But this will 100% spread beyond them if nothing is done
