When buying a car, getting it at msrp, is that a deal? Or can you negotiate that?

You can definitely negotiate from that.

In todays market where they have 50 buyers for 1 car MSRP might be the only way to get that car. But yes that number can def be negotiated and brought down by thousands including manufacturer rebates that are basically money for the dealership on top of MSRP.. ask to see the invoice (not always you’ll get it) but depending on the brand there could be from $1500-$4000 ect in difference and that’s money you can also use to negotiate down.

Before Covid I’d say negotiate. I mean try. But inventory, at least in February was still low. I bought a GMC Acadia and what I negotiated more on was my trade in. The Acadia has a few scratches which I was okay with but made them take $$ off

You definitely don’t want to pay the msrp price. That’s what the manufacturer believes the vehicle is worth but should not be what you paid for it.

Always negotiate! My cars msrp was 21k and I got it down to 16k plus my trade in got it down to 11k
