Latch tips

Sa

I wasn’t going to breastfeed and then decided to when my LO didn’t seem to take well to formula. I had been pretty set on formula so I didn’t talk to the lactation consultant at the hospital. It took about 2 weeks to get to full supply too but now I’m EBF unless my husband takes her so I can get some more sleep then she has a bottle.

Our latch isn’t perfect yet. Some days it’s pretty good all day and other days she’s swallowing so much air that a bottle would probably be better.

Im seeing a LC on the 30th. Anybody have any tips or tricks until then? I’ve watched so many videos on getting a deep latch. But I can’t seem to get her to open her mouth wide enough. Or some times it seems deep and then she’ll pop off then on and make the latch smaller. The gulping sounds she makes when breastfeeding are the same ones when on a bottle. I also seem to have a fast flow, especially on one side. Even pumping some off doesn’t seem to help too much unless I basically , I will literally have her on top of me so she isn’t being drowned by boob.

Shes 6 weeks now. Also all the babies in the latching videos are newborns and basically asleep. Any video auggestions when baby is older and wiggly af?
