Metformin for PCOS?

Question

Have any of you mommas with PCOS (Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome) ever been prescribed Metformin to help with insulin and hormone balance? I'm having a horrible time with weight gain, an intense sweet tooth, and most importantly low milk production. I've read that Metformin can be prescribed to help with these things and can help with milk production. I was just curious if anyone might have a personal experience with this and be willing to share. Thanks!

Please before you try metformin, try a supplemet called Ovasitol (mix of two inositols vitamin b9), metformin has known side effects and long term effects, you can avoid all that with this supplement, meant to regulate your insulin and help you restore your ovulation, proven to be more effective than metformin. You dont lose out by trying something natural first. Do your own research

Girl! Metformin is what got me pregnant both times, well metformin and clomid but i was taking clomid by itself and i never ovulated. Once i added the metformin i got pregnant the second month. Just be aware of the side effects, for me the first 2 weeks were awful, i had diarrhea and i was vomiting,  but after that no more side effects. I also lost a lot of weight with it (and exercise) but it didnt take away the sweet cravings 😬.

I have PCOS and was prescribed Metformin. I stopped taking it because it would come out in my poop. Its literally the strangest thing, i thought i was pooping white kidney beans. Turns out they dont break down well and thats why they had me taking like 3 a day at one point. Im not a medicine type person so i just stopped them.

I am on the max dosage 2000mg a day of metformin I call it my life saver without metformin I didn’t know how I would cope! My symptoms have almost halved I lost 30kg so far no sweet cravings. Most important thing with metformin you need to stay on a low carb low sugar diet if you do you won’t have any bad side effects
