How far is normal?

Like how long can you be pregnant lol before intervention? with my first she asked me if I wanted to schedule an induction if I went past 40 weeks. This time I want to try to go into labor on my own, but at my last appointment, new doctor said they won’t schedule anything before 41 weeks and that they will call me if they have room Sunday the 18th when I’m 41 weeks. But If they don’t have room? Do I just keep chillin? Lol

You can easily go to 42 weeks without concern.

Is this your first baby? Keep in mind spontaneous labour only happens for 50% of FTM by 40+5 and 75% by 41+3 so still another 25% after that and it’s all very normal! I’m 40+6 today, waiting waiting 😂 I won’t go for induction unless something dramatic comes up

I would suggest asking for NSTs once you go past 40w

In Germany some doctors like to induce 7 days past due date. If you have a midwife they'll happily let you go 14 days over due date.
Here in the UK the earliest I was offered an induction was when I was 10days over due. They would have also happily waited until 14days though. 
My first two were born 11 and 12 days over due date.

Some doctors follow the studies that after 40 wks the placenta no longer functions as efficiently. Studies show after this stage there is a higher risk for issues. Many don’t believe this. But I would be your own advocate and ask the questions. No. Don’t just keep chillin 😊my  team of doctors personally does go by the rule.
