MRI after Laparoscopy

So on Monday I had a diagnostic laparoscopy and they found Endometriosis; I wasn’t too surprised as my mom had it and that’s what they were testing me for. The plan was to remove my copper IUD and put a Mirena IUS in, which they did, and also to remove the Endo.

When I woke up in recovery, they told me that they found Endo but didn’t remove any of it because I will need to have an MRI… why would they want to do an MRI after laparoscopy? Would it be because they suspect it to be deep? They didn’t tell me much because they were in a rush to get me gone because they were closing (which I have submitted a complaint about actually). Any advice or insight would be appreciated!
