My partner’s family live 13 miles away from us.

He moved to my city which is where all of my family resides so I get to see them as often as I want .

I get along with his family and they have always made me feel welcome however, when his sister comes round it’s like I’m non existent . They will sit there for a whole 45 mins not including me in the conversation which I find rude as it’s my house also.

When I try to get involved it’s like I’m poking my nose in or interfering in their private conversation.

I get there catching up but my family always involve my partner in conversation, not leaving him out.

So I just end up doing house work to pass the time. I’m contemplating not being in when she comes now. When he finally realised I’ve been gone for a while he’ll call me to come downstairs or ask what I’m doing but she rarely makes conversation either.

Any advice?
