Tongue Tie?

what happens at the first appointment for a tongue and lip tie? is it possible that it’ll be released in the first appointment? my boy is so uncomfy while eating 😭

In my experience (with both kids 2 years apart and n with different doctors/in a different state) it got released right away considering it’s something they can affect feedings. It was a super quick and easy procedure, less than a minute!!

Depends on the dr.. our office releases them same day. Our appt consisted of the dr looking in babies mouth, having baby suck on his finger & then explanation of findings. Then he explained the procedure. My baby has both tongue and lip ties but our dr suggested tongue first as it was worse than the lip to see if that fixes the issues were having. They took him back and he was gone for 2 mins. Our office releases ties with lasers. We practiced the exercises required to prevent reattachment in office and were sent on our way. He was fussy for about 2 days but Tylenol and lots of love made him feel better. We go back tomorrow for his 2 week check up & to talk about his progress, plus review the lip tie.
