My pregnancy and the NHS

Emily 👼🏼👼🏼👼🏼👶🏼

It’s so hard to fault on the NHS because I am so grateful to have it, but my pregnancy was problematic! And nearly 8 months after giving birth I’m still thinking about it. It wasn’t until 30 weeks when I finally met my midwife, to then be rushed into hospital with a heart rate of 140bpm and monitored for hours! It’s been only recently I finally got diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy, which is very slowly recovering. I had a heart infection and was treated for sepsis, which had impacted upon my sons health. Although myself and my baby are doing well I can’t help but wonder if things would have been different if I’d been seen sooner. The rest of my care was amazing but it’s just something that’s been on my mind since my diagnosis.
