Birthdays

Tay

My sons 2nd birthday is soon and the last time my in-laws visited they told my oldest daughter (4) that they got her a present too…. Now that’s all she is talking about and it’s frustrating to me that they would even get her a gift. I told her multiple times that this isn’t her birthday. She needs to be excited to celebrate her brother and it’s his special day not hers. On her birthday she will receive gifts. It’s really making me angry as the days get closer to his party/bday. I feel it was wrong of them to tell her/get her a gift. It’s suppose to be my son’s special day not about her opening gifts. I also am annoyed because when my daughter had her birthday they never got him anything so why would they do that this time. It’s to the point when I was on the phone with my mom earlier talking about food for my sons party; my daughter ran into the room and goes “guess what grandma… Mimi got me a present and I get to open it on ___ birthday”… does anyone else feel this is rude.? My husband said it’s not a big deal but I feel it is..
